This wouldn't be the first time a Former Player has gone on to Manage the team he once played for. Ozzie Guillen used to play for the Chicago White Sox and Joe Torre has been a manager for each of the three teams he once played for.
Now, the rumors of Ryne Sandberg taking control of the Chicago Cubs have begun spreading more than ever. Sandberg recently took the Cubs' Double-A Tennessee Smokies into the playoffs, proving that he does know a thing or two about managing a team. Also, the reports of Lou Piniella's desire to leave the Cubs have become more frequent.
Next year could bring about a New Manager to go with the New Owner for the Chicago Cubs. Would that be good? At this point in the Cub's legacy, anything is worth trying.
